..Do you think the Nationals could trade Adam LaRoche, move Ryan Zimmerman
to first base, Anthony Rendon to third base and sign a free-agent second
baseman like Robinson Cano?

I don't put anything past general manager Mike Rizzo. Zimmerman is having
a tough time throwing the ball because of the surgery he had to repair
the acromioclavicular joint in his right shoulder. If this keeps up, the
Nats may not have a choice but to put Zimmerman at first base and trade
LaRoche. In that scenario, Rendon most likely would go to third base, his
natural position. But I'm not sure about Cano. Ask me this question after
the season comes to an end.

如果Rizzo這樣做我不會感到意外。

I almost fell off my chair reading your answer about Danny Espinosa in
your last Inbox. Too good to remain in a slump? He is a career .230
hitter and perennially among the league leaders in strikeouts. He is
above average defensively, but he is below average offensively.

上次問答中關於Danny Espinosa的部分看到我差點摔下椅子。
（應該是說這篇 http://0rz.tw/YiSsN 當時Ladson對Espinosa有十足信心，
  認為他不會在低潮中掙扎太久）
好到不應該打這麼差？
Espinosa只是個.230的打者而且常年角逐聯盟風扇王。
他擁有聯盟平均之上的手套，但攻擊能力實在差強人意。

Keep in mind that Espinosa has been injured since September of last
season, and he should have said something about his shoulder and wrist.
Instead, he kept playing, which didn't make sense to me. When healthy, I
believe Espinosa can be an above-average hitter. True, he is not having
a good year with Triple-A Syracuse, but it's reasonable to wonder whether
he's still not right physically.

要記住Espinosa從去年九月就帶傷上陣。
他應該坦承自己的肩膀與手腕有些問題，
但他沒有，反而持續比賽。
我完全搞不懂他在想什麼。
當Espinosa無恙時我相信他是個水準以上的打者。
說實話他今年在3A的成績也不理想，

I believe Espinosa will get his career straightened out once he is healthy.
But I don't see him playing every day for the Nationals anymore. If
anything, Espinosa could be a backup second baseman.

我想Espinosa一旦恢復健康就把自己能拉回軌道，
但我不認為Espinosa還能在國民找到先發位置。
就算有可能，也許就只是個板凳二壘手。

Is it me, or do the Nationals not know what to do with Denard Span? He has
a low on-base percentage and he hasn't been stealing many bases.

他的上壘率很低而且似乎不怎麼跑了。

I get a lot of questions about Span. First of all, he is a great guy and
one of the best defensive center fielders I've seen in recent years. But
I often wonder if the Nats will go after a center fielder after the season,
because Span is not the leadoff hitter they expected. Reds outfielder
Shin-Soo Choo, -Choo, for example, is a potential free agent after the
season. Choo has a high on-base percentage. It would not surprise me if
Washington targeted him.

我自己對Span也抱遲許多疑問。
總的來說，他是個好傢伙，
也是近幾年來我所看過防守最好的幾個中外野手之一。
但我常想國民會不會在季後繼續追逐中外野手？
因為Span不是他們預期中的首棒打者。
舉個例子，季後成為自由球員的紅人的秋信守就是個潛藏候選人。
秋的上壘率很高，就算國民鎖定他我也不會感到意外。

Do you think Drew Storen will be traded? His relationship with the Nationals
doesn't seem the same since he blew the save last year against the Cardinals
during the National League Division Series.

Let's make this clear: The Nats respect Storen, but he hasn't been pitching
well this season. The stats back it up. He is trying to work out his
problems in the Minor Leagues. At the same time, there are some teams that
need a closer, and I think Storen will become a quality closer again someday.

先說清楚，國民尊重Storen，
但數據可以證明他一整年都表現欠佳。
他正在小聯盟嘗試解決這個問題。
同時，也有許多球隊都需要一個關門人，
我想Storen還是會在某天恢復他優秀終結者的身手。

Will the Nationals consider going after Michael Morse when he becomes a
free agent at the end of the year? He would have helped the Nats' offense
this year, splitting time between the outfield and first base. What do you
think?

I don't see how he could have helped the Nats, because he spent a lot of
time on the disabled list this year. Also, I don't see Morse coming back
to Washington unless he is a bench player. Athletically, I don't see him in
the Nationals' plans as far as playing the outfield. Morse is an excellent
first baseman, but I think we could see Zimmerman playing the position next
year.

我看不出來他能提供球隊什麼幫助，
因為他今年花不少時間在傷兵名單。
除非他是板凳球員，不然我也不認為Morse會回到華盛頓。
他的運動能力也無法說服國民將他放進球團的未來計畫中。
Morse是個很棒的一壘手，
但我想明年這個位置交給Zimmerman還比較有可能。

我印象中Ladson相當維護球員,替他們說好話,
但這篇語氣的確可以感受到Ladson今年有多失望.
特別是對瞞傷的Espinosa跟打出生涯最爛的Span,
Ladson用字可以算是蠻重的...
這兩個都還能被球團控制好幾年,
Ladson的語氣卻似乎已經不覺得還有必要期待他們能反彈.
