Breaking News, Friday August 01 2003 Stoke City have secured the services of former Chelsea goalkeeper Ed de Goey. The Dutchman, who was capped 31 times for Holland, has moved to the Britannia Stadium on a Bosman free after being released by the west London club at the end of last season. The 36-year-old stopper, who made 179 appearances for the Blues in a six-year spell at Stamford Bridge, has signed a two-year deal with the Potters. City boss Tony Pulis is elated at having such an experienced No.1 in his team for the new campaign and De Goey may just find himself in Stoke's starting line-up when they take on Derby when the new season gets underway on August 9. The former Feyenoord custodian is Pulis' fourth major summer signing, following the aquisitions of John Eustace, Gifton-Noel Williams and Clint Hill. He is set to make his debut tonight in a friendly against Macclesfield at Moss Rose.
