Van Persie impresses Van Basten
Netherlands coach Marco van Basten has given Robin van Persie a vote of
confidence as the Dutch prepare for Wednesday's friendly with Germany.
"He left a good impression in his last few caps both as a football player and
as a human being," said Van Basten.
"A lot happened with him this summer. We'll have to see how that ends."
The 22-year-old was released without charge after two weeks in a Rotterdam
prison in June over allegations that he raped a woman, which he denies.
The accusations against Van Persie are still the subject of an investigation
by Dutch police.
