Ajax draw Arsenal again
Amsterdam, August 25, 2005
During the draw for the group stage of the Champions League, Paolo Maldini
matched Ajax with Sparta Prague (Czech Republic), FC Thun (Switzerland)and
again Arsenal (England).
In the 2002-2003 season, Ajax played in the second group stage against
Arsenal. In London, the teams drew 1-1, through a fantastic goal by Nigel de
Jong, in Amsterdam there were no goals. Ajax have never played against Sparta
Prague and FC Thun.
The schedule:
Wednesday 14 September: Sparta - Ajax
Tuesday 27 September: Ajax - Arsenal
Tuesday 18 October: Ajax - FC Thun
Wednesday 2 November: FC Thun - Ajax
Tuesday 22 November: Ajax - Sparta Prague
Wednesday 7 December: Arsenal - Ajax
