Arveladze leaves AZ to join Levante
34-year-old international striker Shota Arveladze will leave AZ to join
Levante on a free transfer. The Georgian forward had one year left on his
contract, but AZ granted him their former captain a transfer to Spain as a
free agent. Arveladze scored 36 goals in 60 league appearance during his spell
in Alkmaar.
Arveladze joined AZ in the summer of 2005 from Glasgow Rangers, where
he spent four seasons. The Georgian had spells at Ajax, Trabzonsport, Dinamo
Tblisi, Iberia Tbilisi and Martve Tbilisi before. So far in his career,
Arveladze has scored 291 goals in 452 appearances.
