The Sacramento Kings held the New Jersey Nets to seven first quarter points,
outscoring the Nets 16-7 in the quarter. Sacramento never looked back, cruising
to a 71-60 win.
Kevin Martin paced the Kings with 21 points (8-15 FG) and three rebounds, but
committed seven turnovers. Erik Daniels chipped in 14 points (6-11 FG) and five
rebounds, while Ronne Price had 13 points (6-12 FG).
The Kings finished the game shooting 46 percent (29-63 FG). Sacramento
capitalized on 18 New Jersey turnovers by outscoring them 20-12 in points off
turnovers.
Melvin Sanders led the Nets in scoring with 16 points (8-13 FG). Rookie Antoine
Wright pitched in 12 points (5-18 FG), seven rebounds and committed six
turnovers.
New Jersey out-rebounded Sacramento 42-34, but shot only 38 percent (23-60 FG)
for the game.
The Kings take on the Chicago Bulls on Sunday night at 7 p.m., while the Nets
battle the New York Knicks on Monday at 7 p.m.
