Nets Exercise Fourth-Year Option on Zoran Planinic
East Rutherford, NJ (October 31, 2005) - The New Jersey Nets have exercised
the fourth-year option on the contract of guard Zoran Planinic, Nets
President Rod Thorn announced today. He will remain under contract with the
Nets through the 2006-07 season.
“Zoran is a versatile player who has shown continued improvement in his
first two seasons,” said Thorn. “We look forward to his continued
development.”
Planinic, a 6-7 guard from Croatia, was the First Round selection (22nd
overall) of the Nets in the 2003 NBA Draft. In his first two seasons,
Planinic has played in 92 games, averaging 4.0 ppg, 1.3 rpg and 1.2 apg.
