Just went there last weekend. took metro north new haven line, $14 dollars
for one way.
after i got there, i want to take cab from union station, my friend told me
is about $10 dollars one way to down town yale,
but the line was too long so i used google map, and it is actually in walking
distance.
about 15 mins walk you will be down town yale. and i do not think it's unsafe.
