IGN: How long has the game been in development and how big is the team?

Marty: The game has been in development for 18 months and with a team of
over 50 people working on the game at one time or another.

IGN: People liked the pick-up-and-play style of the first two Super Monkey
Ball games. Why go the adventure route?
人們喜歡直覺就會玩的前兩代的遊戲方式，為何要做成冒險的?
Marty: The characters in the Monkey Ball franchise were just begging for
an adventure to be built around them. We felt it was time that AiAi,
MeeMee, GonGon, Baby, and all their monkey friends be part of a
larger adventure.
我想這些猴子朋友們渴望冒險吧
IGN: How does the Story Mode work? What are the goals?

Marty: Super Monkey Ball Adventure Story Mode takes place in a persistent
world in which puzzles and quests are spread throughout. The goal of
the players is to restore happiness to the monkey kingdom and this is
done by accomplishing a series of quests. Classic Super Monkey Ball
gameplay (puzzle trays) are found throughout this world and you will
need to pass a certain percentage of these levels to progress. This is
bolstered by a chant system that grants new abilities to the Ball.

IGN: What is the storyline?

Marty: It's a tale of forbidden monkey love. Two monkeys have fallen in
love but their royal families are not on the best of terms and are
keeping the two love monkeys apart. The resulting bad mojo has cast
a dark cloud over the monkey world and it's your job to bring light
and happiness back, and find a way to unite the star-crossed monkey
lovers.

IGN: Do the same roll-and-tilt play mechanics work in Story Mode?

Marty: The monkey ball rolls in response to the player's control stick input,
but only in the Spirit Realm does the whole world tilt as in previous
games.
Other mechanics are the same, for instance you can even "Fall Out" in
some parts of the map! You'll get to meet other monkeys that populate
the world and go on individual quests that they may need your help with.

IGN: Give us some examples of quests in the Story Mode?

Marty: The challenges range from delivering lunch to a hungry Light House
attendant, to finding lost monkey babies, to wrangling bees for a
bee keeper and more.

IGN: How many playable characters are there?
有幾個腳色可以選擇
Marty: AiAi, MeeMee, GonGon, and Baby are the characters you can play in the
Story Mode. In addition throughout your travels you will meet over 50
Monkeys who you can help and learn from, over 20 of which will feature
as playable characters in the party games.
四個可以選，不過你會遇到超過50隻猴子，而有超過20隻可以在PARTY模式使用
IGN: Do they have special abilities?
他們有特殊能力嗎
Marty: Special abilities are a large part of Super Monkey Ball Adventure.
Our monkey heroes discover special chants in the game that give
their monkey balls (which are not made of plastic, by the way) new
abilities. There's the wood ball, in which the monkey ball turns into
wood that makes it buoyant so you can literally walk on water; you can
also light the ball on fire to complete certain challenges you are
tasked with. You can also make the monkey ball hover so you can reach
certain areas once unreachable on the map. There are many more
abilities that we'll share with everyone as we get closer to ship.

IGN: What new maneuvers can the monkeys do in SMBA?
Marty: The monkey balls roll around in the game world in the familiar Super
Monkey Ball way, but with the use of special chants the balls can
change and take on different functions. OK I'll give you one more…
one of the chants makes the monkey ball invisible so you can sneak
past guards and such in the game.

IGN: Does the game feature regular-style Super Monkey Ball stages? How many?
And how have these changed, if at all?

Marty: In the Story Mode there are 5 unique worlds -- Jungle Island, Moonhaven
(a city above the clouds), Zootopia (a Theme Park world), Monkeytropolis
(a big, dark city whose main industry is noise making) and Kongri-la
(an underwater city) offer over 60 quests. In addition there are 50
new puzzle trays.

IGN: Are there party games?
有 party 模式嗎
Marty: In this game classic Party Games are boosted by some great new
additions. Some of the favorite party games from the classic Super
Monkey Ball titles are present alongside three new additions --
Monkey Tag where you have to get balloons any way you can; Monkey
Bounce, which is a brand new puzzle game including an array of power
ups and Monkey Cannon, a frantic four-player destruction game that
demands tactics, skill and of course luck!
IGN: Nice. So four players can go at it simultaneously then.

Marty: The Story Mode and Challenge Mode portions are single player, but
the party games can be enjoyed by up to 4 players.
