Injured Sand to miss Bosnia qualifier
COPENHAGEN, Oct 2 (Reuters)
Denmark striker Ebbe Sand will miss the Euro 2004 qualifier against
Bosnia on October 11 due to an injury, the Danish Football Association
said on Thursday.
Sand injured a ligament two weeks ago in a Bundesliga match for his
German club Schalke 04.
'I have today spoken to Ebbe. We have decided together he will miss the
game,' Denmark coach Morten Olsen said on the Danish Football Association's
website.
Olsen will announce a replacement for Sand on Friday.
Denmark and Romania, who last month finished their Euro 2004 campaign with
a draw against the Danes, both have 14 points in Group Two, two points ahead
of Bosnia.
Denmark play Bosnia away and a draw will seal the 1992 European champions
an automatic place in the finals.
