REYKJAVIK, Oct 7 (Reuters) Iceland coaches Asgeir Sigurvinsson and Logi Olafsson have cut their squad to 20 and will take three players battling injuries to their final Euro 2004 qualifier against Germany in Hamburg on Saturday. Iceland will be without midfielder Gylfi Einarsson and striker Tryggvi Gudmundsson, who were named in the squad last week, while Hermann Hreidarsson, Runar Kristinsson and Petur Marteinsson are doubtful for the team due to injury. Iceland are certain to miss Heidar Helguson and Larus Orri Sigurdsson due to injuries and Johannes Karl Gudjonsson, who is serving a one-match suspension. 'With so many doubtful, we decided to take 20 players to Hamburg. We will assess the injuries when the squad is assembled there,' the Icelandic daily Morgunbladid quoted Sigurvinsson as saying on Tuesday. Germany lead Group Five with 15 points and need only a draw to win the group. Iceland, on 13 points, need a victory to qualify directly for the finals in Portugal next year. If Iceland fail to win and Scotland, on 11 points, beat Lithuania in Glasgow, the Scots will pip Iceland for second place and the playoffs. Germany cannot finish worse than second.
