Competitive move
With this in mind, and just days after the Feyenoord defeat, Hansen signed
defender Bjorn Tore Kvarme from French side SC Bastia.
Kvarme's arrival should put pressure on the centre-halves already at the club,
Erik Hoftun and Vidar Riseth.
Another significance of the Gran Canaria trip was that it marked the return
of Nils Arne Eggen to Rosenborg.
Consultancy role
The legendary coach is now back at the Trondheim club in a consultancy role,
and he has already been heard in vociferous mood at the training ground.
The hope is that Eggen will help galvanise the side and help them reproduce
the flowing attacking football of yesteryear, and they will have an early
opportunity to do so when they make a quick return to Spain.
