"I'm thankful to be vindicated by the dismissal of this charge," Anthony said in a statement. "As I stated before, I never intentionally possessed marijuana. My responsibility was to see this process through and I have done that."

Anthony's friend, James Cunningham, signed an affidavit saying the marijuana belonged to him and that he had placed it in Anthony's bag.

"Carmelo has passed every drug test he's taken because he didn't take and doesn't take illegal drugs," said his lawyer, Dan Recht.

"I know this case has been upsetting to Carmelo ...," Recht added. "He's looking forward to focusing on the season and playing his best."
