Hill will test ankle on Wednesday

Grant Hill will put down the crutches Wednesday and put all his weight
on his ailing ankle for the first time in a year.

In an interview in today's editions of the New York Times, Hill said
his three years of failure to fix his problematic ankle have left him
older but desperate to win a championship.

"In the last three years, I guess you can say I've developed a sense of
urgency," Hill said. "I definitely have this same sense of desperation.
I'm the oldest player on the roster. I was always used to being the youngest,
now I'm the oldest. I know that when I get back on the court -- whenever
that is -- this is going to be it.

"You compete to achieve the ultimate, and that's a championship."

Hill didn't address the Magic's plan to have him sit out this season to rest
his ankle.
