After toying with the idea for the past few weeks,
the Orlando Magic have decided not to send rookie F James Augustine
to the NBA's Development League at this time.
Magic Coach Brian Hill said Friday before the team faced the
Portland Trail Blazers that the club won't ship Augustine to play for
their D-League affiliate, the Anaheim (Calif.) Arsenal.
"We're going to keep him with us," Hill said.
"Now, sometime down the road, James could get out there and get playing time."
Augustine, the Magic's second-round draft pick out of Illinois, has not been
activated for a regular-season game this season.
"I'm willing to do whatever they want me to do," Augustine said.
"Sure, I'd rather be with [the Magic]. I'm just trying to get better."
