White Chocolate is looking for a comeback.

The Magic are looking for a backup point guard.

If those two wants/needs converge, it might not be for a few weeks. The Magic
are still in sit-and-wait mode as far as filling out the roster. They don't
believe there's any need to rush.

As for Jason Williams (nicknamed White Chocolate, in case you missed that),
he's attempting his return to basketball at 33, almost a year after retiring
from the Clippers to spend more time with his family. Williams will be
eligible to play again on Sept. 26, the anniversary of his retirement. He
last played for the Miami Heat where he was the starting point guard on the
2006 championship team.

The Knicks made a waiver claim to him last week and have exclusive rights to
offer Williams a contract until tomorrow. Reports suggest that isn't likely
to happen. New York worked out Williams yesterday, but is apparently more
interested in Ramon Sessions, a restricted free agent point guard with the
Milwaukee Bucks.

If that's the case, he'll become an unrestricted free agent on Friday and a
guy the Magic would consider. Williams' offseason home is out here.

Several reports have also mentioned the Memphis Grizzlies as a potential
destination. Williams played for the Grizzlies from 2001 to 2005.

Point-guard wise, there are still a lot of inexpensive options available in
addition to Williams. C.J. Watson is still be one of them, though he's a
restricted free agent so Golden State could match any offer. Young guys --
Gabe Pruitt and Mike Taylor -- also got waived last week.

The closer we get to training camp (which starts Sept. 29), the less leverage
those remaining free agents will have.
