Jameer Nelson goes home sick from Magic practice

If it's not one thing, it's another.

In this morning's practice the Magic prepared to get Rashard Lewis back on
Monday from suspension and Ryan Anderson back from his sprained ankle. Magic
coach Stan Van Gundy had hoped he would have as full a roster as possible in
practice today, but that didn't happen.

Point guard Jameer Nelson went home sick from RDV Sportsplex today and
shooting guard J.J. Redick tweaked his ankle and missed the rest of practice.

Redick's ankle isn't at all serious. He walked out of the practice facility
without a limp and said if practice had gone on longer, he would have
returned.

Van Gundy said Marcin Gortat didn't feel well either, but practiced because
they needed the players.

To recap the Magic's injury/illness situation, they're currently missing, in
addition to Nelson, Adonal Foyle, who had knee surgery three weeks ago, and
Brandon Bass who has the flu. Bass should be back by Monday.

Ryan Anderson sustained a mid-ankle sprain against the Detroit Pistons last
week and missed the team's past three games. His ankle is almost back to
normal and he should be ready for Monday's game, too.

Vince Carter sprained his ankle week before Anderson did, re-aggravated it
after returning too soon and missed about a week total. He returned this past
Tuesday.

Matt Barnes played a game sick (but with no fever so he didn't have to be
sequestered like Bass did). Barnes also jammed his left pinkie finger against
New Jersey on Friday. It wasn't broken, but swollen yesterday and wrapped
today.

And before any of that happened, the Magic were already shorthanded missing
Rashard Lewis.

Dwight Howard and Mickael Pietrus have both been banged up, too.
