MIAMI — Coach Stan Van Gundy said the Orlando Magic will employ a starting
lineup of Jameer Nelson, Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu, Ryan Anderson and
Dwight Howard for their preseason exhibition tonight against the Miami Heat.
Van Gundy also said he intends to play Glen Davis, Chris Duhon, J.J. Redick
and Earl Clark for certain.
“And then from there, I don’t know how many other guys will play or
whatever,” Van Gundy said. “I don’t know. A lot of it will depend on how
the game goes. We’re in our next-to-last exhibition game, so I want to try
to push the minutes up a little bit. We need to get back into playing and
conditioning and the whole thing.”
Dwight Howard was not available to the press after the Magic completed their
film work and then a one-hour, 50-minute shootaround at AmericanAirlines
Arena. Although Howard did participate fully in the workout, Van Gundy said,
Howard was not on the court when the court was opened to the media.
Van Gundy said he will stop talking about his All-Star center’s stay-or-go
drama.
“I’ll be saying it in every city: I’m not going to comment on that anymore,
” Van Gundy said. “It is what it is.”
