Coach: Dwight Howard wants me out

Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said Thursday morning that center
Dwight Howard has asked the team's management to fire him.

"I know he has," Van Gundy told reporters after the team's shootaround,
according to the Orlando Sentinel. "That's just the way it is. Again,
I've been dealing with that all year. It's not anything real bothersome.
You go out and do your job."

SVG在週四早上練球時對記者說"我知道他有跟老闆提. 這是無法改變的事實. 我一整
年都有聽到傳言. 心煩也沒用,我只能專心帶球隊."

Van Gundy said he was told "it was true by people in our management
right from the top."

The Magic host the New York Knicks in Orlando on Thursday night.

Howard had denied a report that he had asked for Van Gundy's dismissal and
even hugged Van Gundy on Thursday, not realizing that the coach had told
the media that the superstar center wanted him fired.

Howard對這些謠言表示否認. 他甚至在週四練球的時候擁抱SVG示好. 但Howard不知道
SVG已經自己跟媒體爆料

On Wednesday, Howard sent a text to ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard,
saying he has not spoken with Magic officials about Van Gundy's job
status.

"I haven't said nothing to anybody,'' Howard said in a text message.
"My main focus is that me and Stan and the team are on the same page for
the playoffs. Whatever happens at the end of the season is up to the
management.''

An Orlando television station, WKMG-TV, reported Wednesday morning that
Howard has told Magic owners that he wants a change in the coaching staff.
ESPN.com reported before last month's trade deadline that Orlando's front
office had given Howard the power to determine the fates of general manager
Otis Smith and Van Gundy at the end of the season if he agreed not to opt
out of his contract.

Howard本人不斷的媒體表示自己沒有要求球團開除教練. 但是各媒體的報導則是Howard
本人的確有向球團提出要求. 內線指出球團同意如果Howard明年不提前解約的話他有權
掌握教練的去留

Howard decided against opting out and becoming a free agent after this season
but has said he does not want the responsibility of determining the futures
of Smith and Van Gundy.

On Wednesday, Howard said his only concern is winning a ring this season with
this coaching staff.

"Im focused on winning the championship,'' Howard said in a text. "The only
thing that matters is right now. Stan is the coach and I'm riding with
him.''
