Technical Leader
Seeking a Technical Leader to lead and grow Enterprise Content Delivery System in the Digital Media Systems BU within Emerging Technologies Group. This business unit is focused on new growth areas for Cisco in the area of enterprise video and digital media over IP for applications like social video, digital signage, IPTV for business, and media processing.
Responsibilities:
Successful candidate will be actively participating in the design and development of the Enterprise Content Delivery system.
The candidate will interact with product management to help define the roadmap, write functional specification, design documents, code, mentor other team members.
This is a hands-on position. Evolving the architecture and hands-on contribution are key aspects of the job.
Requirements
Following requirements are must have
Proficiency in large scale and complex system design and development using C/C++
Experience with system and kernel programming on Linux, shell scripting, python
Overall 10+ years of experience in relevant domain and technologies.
BS/MS degree in engineering/technology, advanced degree preferred.
Solid background in digital content process flows and media streaming technologies by the broadcast and digital video delivery industries, including telcos and IPTV.
Strong technical leadership, mentoring and collaboration skills and strong execution focus
Knowledge of streaming/multicasting, Windows Media, Flash, Quick Time
Preferred skills
Understanding of web caching and proxy technologies
Experience in video transmission/streaming over IP network; RTP/RTCP/RTSP
Understanding of video technologies such as ACNS, WAAS, CDN,
Extensive skills in networking with exposure to Cisco gear, CCNA/CCIE is a plus
Experience with transcoding / encoding appliances.
Experience writing Linux device drivers
