New Pacer Troy Murphy sends a letter of thanks
To the basketball fans of Indiana:
I, along with Ike Diogu, Keith McLeod and Mike Dunleavy, would like to thank
you for the warm reception we have received, on and off the court, since our
trade from the Golden State Warriors to the Indiana Pacers.
Trades always hit hard, especially when you have established roots and
friends in the city you lived. But getting the news we were coming to Indiana
softened the blow, and our treatment since we have arrived has done nothing
to change that. We had heard the Pacers are a first-class organization and
they have lived up to that billing.
Having experienced the passion of basketball in the state of Indiana when I
played at the University of Notre Dame, I understand what the game means to
fans. We will do our best to fulfill the expectations they have for us.
We are truly excited to be here. Again, thanks for making us feel welcome.
