Despite the freshness of the stinging loss to the San Antonio Spurs on
Thursday night, the theme in the Suns locker room afterward centered more
around what went right rather than what went wrong.

“I thought our defense was very good,” said coach Mike D’Antoni, who gave
his players Friday off. “We just couldn’t get anything offensively going
and if that’s our problem, that’s not a bad problem to have. We’ll solve
that.”

By holding the Spurs to 38.7 percent shooting from the field, Phoenix
extended its streak of keeping an opponent under 40 percent to three games.
Over that span, the opposition has shot a combined 35.7 percent, well below
the Suns’ defensive season average of 45.0.

這場比賽太陽展現出他們堅強的防守，讓對手馬刺僅僅只有38.7%的命中率，這也是連續
的第三場比賽，太陽都讓對方的命中率不超過40%。在這段期間中，對手的平均命中率只
有35.7%，遠低於太陽讓對手平均命中率的45%。

That effort has resulted in holding their opponents to under 100 points in
seven of their last 10 games.

Add to those numbers the fact that in the past two contests Phoenix has
established season bests for steals (13), opponent field-goal percentage
(34.3), first-half points by an opponent (33) and a franchise record for
blocks in a game (19), and the Suns are well on their way to having their
best defensive season under D’Antoni.

對上老鷹與馬刺的這兩場比賽裡，太陽展現出了他們強悍的防守能力。在對上老鷹的比賽

“That’s the thing we really want to build on,” guard Steve Nash said.

Improvement in this area isn’t just a recent trend. Phoenix is blocking
shots at the second-best rate in the league (7.10 to Denver’s 7.15) and is
on track to swat a franchise-best 583, one more than the previous high set in
1991-92. Additionally, the Suns are second in the league to Boston (31.2) in
opponent 3-point field-goal percentage (33.2).

當然我們的防守也不只是最近這幾場比賽才比較好。太陽賞給對方的火鍋數目前是位居在
聯盟中的第二名，僅次於第一的金塊(7.15 BLKS 太陽7.10 BLKS)。我們也嘗試著要超越

“I’m pretty encouraged,” D’Antoni said, “just because of our defense and
stuff we know we have to get better at, we were pretty good at.”

L.B. AND THE SPURS

Leandro Barbosa’s line from Thursday’s game, five points on 2 of 10
shooting, was reminiscent of his performance in last year’s playoff matchup
with the Spurs.

小巴在星期四對上馬刺的比賽，只得了5分(投10中2)。讓人不禁想起去年的季後賽對上馬
刺時，小巴的手感也是一樣的冷。(小巴加油啊。)

Barbosa came into that series averaging 21.2 points on 45.1 percent shooting
in the postseason, but managed just 11.3 points and shot 35.5 percent against
San Antonio’s suffocating defense.

小巴在季後賽的表現平均是有著21.2分與45.1%的命中率，但對上馬刺的比賽中，則是下
滑到只有11.3分與35.5%的命中率而已。(看來是被插草人了(茶))

“I think nothing (they did) was bothering me,” said Barbosa, who was held
to single digits for only the third time in the past 17 games and finished
with his lowest point total since Dec. 12 against Utah (five). “I just couldn
’t make my shots, and I struggled from 3- and two-point (range), and I couldn
’t get it back. I tried, but it didn’t help the team.”

小巴說:"我覺得沒有什麼事情在困擾著我，只是我不知道為什麼都投不進(嘟)，我嘗試在
三分線附近找回該有的手感，但手感就是一直無法恢復，沒辦法幫上球隊什麼忙。"
