MIAMI - Stromile Swift still has a lot of adjusting to do now that he's with
the Suns.
He is getting accustomed to life without his mother, who died Jan. 27. He is
trying to get in playing shape after six weeks out of action and only six
appearances with New Jersey this season. He is getting used to a new team on
the fly, arriving Tuesday night in Miami and signing with Phoenix on
Wednesday.
剛經歷喪母之痛的Swift，已經開始隨隊進行客場之旅。他禮拜二晚間飛抵Miami，
隨即在禮拜三與太陽簽約。
"I'm still soaking it in," Swift said. "It's a lot but I can deal with it."
「我正不斷提升自己。有一大堆功課等著我做，但我可以應付的。」Swift說
But adjusting to the Suns' style will be the easiest of thing for Swift, an
athletic 6-foot-10 power forward who can finish at the rim and hit a
mid-range shot.
"I was a little bit nervous at first," Swift said. "I didn't know what to
expect. After talking to Coach (Alvin) Gentry, I feel comfortable with the
style."
調整到與太陽的節奏同步，對Swift來說應該是很簡單的。他是個有運動能力的
6呎10大個，可以在籃下進攻也可以投中距離。「剛開始我有點緊張，不知道該
期待些什麼。但與教練交談之後，太陽的風格讓我舒服。」
Swift got a taste of the style in Memphis when former Suns assistant Marc
Iavaroni tried to bring some of it to the Grizzlies, whom Swift said didn't
buy into it. The hope is Swift, signed to a prorated $289,000 minimum deal
after the Nets bought out his contract, also can bolster the Suns' defense
with his shot-blocking and help defense.
這不是Swift第一次接觸到這種風格。早在灰熊時期，前助理教練Marc Iavaroni
就曾試著把它帶入灰熊，但Swift不買他的帳。在籃網買斷Swift之後，太陽用最
低薪簽下他，而對Swift的期望，不外乎就是希望藉助他的火鍋與補防能鞏固太
陽的防守。
"I still feel like I have a lot of potential," Swift, 29, said. "There are
still some things out there I can do. I've got to be more consistent at the
things I do well."
「我依然感覺自己潛力十足。」Swift說。「還有一些事情我可以做，只是我必須
要更穩定些。」
