Amundson option picked up
There was never a doubt but the Suns officially insured that
Lou Amundson will remain with the team for the coming season
by picking up the team option on his contract.
Amundson, 26, signed a veteran's minimum two-year contract with
the Suns last August that included a $855,189 option for this
season because he has three years of NBA service.
Amundson was signed mainly as a player who would infuse energy
into practices and be able to help with spot duty because of
his energy and defense. He broke into regular playing time by
December and played the season's final 61 games. He won the
Majerle Hustle Award for averaging 4.2 points and 3.6 rebounds
in 13.7 minutes of play per game. His 12.4 rebounds per 48
minutes of play ranked 31st in the NBA.
Today was the last day the option could be exercised.
