Phoenix Suns eye franchise record for 3-point accuracy

It might surprise Suns fans to know that this season's
team has shot 3-pointers more accurately than any in
franchise history.

對於太陽隊的球迷來說，隊史最高的團隊三分球命中率是這個賽季
最讓人驚喜的事情。


It might floor them to know that the Suns entered Sunday
shooting 3-pointers more accurately than every team in
NBA history but one.

也許有人注意到了，經過了上個星期天
太陽隊的三分球命中率便遠遠勝過了所有的球隊，而成為全NBA史上次高的球隊。


The Suns, at 41 percent this season entering Sunday, are
in line to break the franchise record of 39.9 percent
3-point shooting set by the 2005-06 team and tied by the
2006-07 club. Phoenix will not make as many 3s as three
of the previous five seasons' teams, but the clip ranks
second in NBA annals only to the 1996-97 Charlotte Hornets,
who with Glen Rice shot 42.8 percent. The Suns have made
more than 100 more 3s than that Charlotte team.

一舉打破了05-06球季和06-07球季的紀錄──39.9%

"I thought we shot the 3 well, but I didn't know it'd be
a record," Suns guard Steve Nash said. "I would not have
necessarily thought that at the start of the year, but I
thought we'd be a good 3-point team."

The Suns entered Sunday with three of the NBA's top 11
3-point shooters by accuracy, with Jared Dudley fourth,
Channing Frye seventh and Nash 11th. They also had two
of the top 11 for 3-pointers made in Frye (fourth) and
Jason Richardson (11th). Goran Dragic and Dudley made
big jumps with their 3s, but Frye went from 20 career
3s to 183 entering Sunday.

星期天以後(編按：我不懂為什麼一直要強調星期天......)
太陽隊在全NBA的三分球命中率方面擁有Dudley，第四名、
Frye，第七名，還有老大，第十一名。

另外在三分球進球數方面也有第四名的Frye和十一名的綠茶。
當然Dragic和Dudley表現也不錯，但最屌的當然是來到太陽以後
生涯三分球進球總數從20球變成183球的Frye。




"The big surprise was Channing," Richardson said. "The
3s are a lot easier now because Channing is spacing
everybody out, and now we have a lot of opportunity for
Steve to penetrate and get to the basket. Now it's all
open all over the place."

「Channing對於球隊真的是個大驚喜。」綠茶如是說道：「因為他
可以成功的讓每一個防守者不得不拉出去防守他，所以我和Nash才
有越來越多的機會在籃下逛大街，把整個空間都打開了。」

Nash is on track to record his fourth league assists title,
joining John Stockton (nine), Bob Cousy (eight), Oscar Robertson (seven),
Jason Kidd (five), Magic Johnson (four) and Kevin Porter (four) with at
least that many. All of Nash's came after he turned 30.


Suns coach Alvin Gentry said Oklahoma City assistant coach
Maurice Cheeks, a four-time All-Star point guard, told him
Friday, 'I can't believe at 36 years old, he's playing the
way he's playing. It's phenomenal, especially with the way
you guys play. You're not talking about a 6-9 back-you-down
point guard. You're talking about a little point who plays
with finesse and out on the floor."


With Dragic's improvement, Nash's minutes (32.9 per game
entering Sunday) are his lowest since 1999-2000, when he
was a part-time starter.

"I feel good," Nash said. "I had two months with the back
there that I felt terrible. When you're not moving well
and you're struggling, every minute is like two minutes."
