今天來更新我們唯一的中鋒Lopez的消息，整個休賽季我也一直在關注他。無奈幾乎沒有
他的消息。原因在本文中有提到。


Lopez本賽季很積極，他是首批回到太陽進行自主訓練的球員，同行的還有Jenning、
Lawal、Clark等人。


或許因為是這支球隊唯一的中鋒，鳳凰城當地有些記者如Seth Pollack就非常關注Lopez
的狀態。目前Lopez的體態約恢復至95％，尚未至完全的比賽體態。希望訓練營過後他能
達到100％的狀態。

Robin Lopez can be tough to interview, with his lack of comfort, and lack of
interest in opening up.

Robin Lopez因為內向以及覺得不自在，所以他不喜歡接受採訪。






He can be tough on basketballs - and doors - in practice, with his trouble
accepting failure.

他也可以在練習中粗暴地對待籃球與門，因為他難以接受訓練上的挫折。






He also can be the Suns' toughest player, with a lot of room to grow.

In light of worries about defense, size and rebounding, Lopez is a 7-foot ray
of hope that the Suns actually can be better without Amar'e Stoudemire. At
age 22 with 111 career games, Lopez provides promise.

His offense is more polished, the result of increased focus on post moves
this summer and improving his mid-range shot. He looks bigger after two years
of Suns athletic training has improved his posture to lengthen his standing
reach by several inches. And when the Suns talk defense, they have a center
whose priorities lie at that end.

"He made a step last year," said assistant coach Bill Cartwright, Lopez's
mentor. "He'll make another step, and we'll get him where he needs to be."

It all comes with the qualifier "if he stays healthy." In Lopez's first year
of real action, he suffered a foot fracture at camp and missed six weeks of
late-season and playoff action due to a bulging disk. Lopez said he feels
"much better" than when last season ended, but coach Alvin Gentry said Lopez
is not in the shape the Suns need him to be.

In 31 starts last season, Lopez averaged 11.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in 24.5
minutes per game. Even with his importance growing, his time will fluctuate
based on whether he is needed (against San Antonio) or not a good matchup
(against Dallas' small lineup).

"What we want for Robin is for his minutes to be productive," Cartwright
said. "That's the tough part to this league. Brook (Robin's twin who plays
for New Jersey) gets 20-plus post touches a game. It's not going to happen
with Robin. Brook's playing 37 minutes a game. It's not going to happen with
Robin. So the minutes that he's in, we just want him to be productive. We
want him to be a good rebounder, shot blocker, paint protector and be able to
defend the zone position. When he gets the ball, be decisive and make good
moves. He had a great summer. I'm anticipating very solid play out of him and
no fouls."

If he qualified, Lopez would have ranked among the NBA's top 30 frequent
foulers last season with 5.7 per 48 minutes (Channing Frye's 5.8 rate was
higher). Qualifying also would have put Lopez third in the NBA for field-goal
percentage at 58.8.

如果他一如往常，Lopez將會是位於前30的犯規高手，每48分鐘有5.7犯規。（Frye比他還
高是5.8）。不過他也有58.8％的高命中率。







"I learned a lot of little things that are different at this level than
college," Lopez said. "I finally got to see those firsthand."

Cartwright said last season served Lopez well to understand opposing big men
and for officials to get familiar with his aggressiveness. Cartwright, a
former All-Star and NBA champion, arrived in Phoenix with Lopez in 2008 to be
the coach who could meet him at eye level and demand respect.

Cartwright表示上賽季主要任務是讓Lopez有效的了解如何跟其他禁區球員對抗，並由球

"Once I come to know you, I can say pretty much anything to you," Cartwright
said. "You want to be straight with him. I'm going to tell you good things.
I'm going to tell you bad things. It's going to seem like more bad than good,
and maybe it is. He wants to do well. He has a lot of passion. I can always
dial a guy down. It's hard to dial him up. You get a guy who will play with
emotion and spirit, really cares and plays as hard as he can, I'm good with
him."

Cartwright說：「一旦當我了解你，我就可以說出有關你的任何事情。」

Gentry seeks improvement in Lopez's post-up offense to keep an inside-scoring
presence and rebounding with a goal of eight per game. Lopez was a
difference-maker last season. The Suns won the rebound battle in 24 of his 31
starts (only 22 of the other 51 regular-season games).

Gentry設法改善Lopez的低位進攻，以保持內線進攻的威嚇性，並且希望Lopez至少可以每
場平均抓下8籃板。

事實上Lopez是有改變比賽內容能力的人，在上賽季，他31場先發中，太陽在其中24場的

"I see Robin making some improvements and playing well, doing things that he
didn't do last year," Gentry said.

三、結論


有關於Lopez可以提升太陽籃板能力一事無庸置疑。根據其他外電，Lopez頗有其Stanford
學長大三零之風。

Robin only averaged 6.2 rebounds per game as a starter, but he can occupy the
other team's best rebounding big and will tip a lot of balls out to his wings.

Robin雖然僅有6.2個籃板，但他在禁區卡住了其他隊最好的籃板手，使得本隊的鋒衛球員
可以搶到許多籃板。

With Lopez in the starting lineup last season, the Suns were about +4 in
rebounding differential, which was around top five in the league. This chart
shows the impact Robin had on the Suns' rebounding results last season once
he moved into the starting lineup and then after his injury:


若用籃板差來看，Robin先發時我們籃板差是＋4，排名聯盟前五。
