Suns coach Alvin Gentry built up Goran Dragic's confidence when he took over
in 2009 by giving him playing time, putting an arm around his shoulder and
voicing confidence in the point guard.

Gentry is not about to lose Dragic by stopping any of that, and he blamed
himself for a quick hook of Dragic early in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's
double-overtime loss to Chicago. It resulted in Dragic's least amount of
playing time (8:36) since his rookie year, and Steve Nash had to play 20
consecutive minutes despite a sore heel and back.

Dragic could not disagree with the lack of playing time, feeling he had not
been worthy of more than 9 minutes Wednesday and 11 minutes Monday. Gentry's
short leash and Dragic's struggles appear short-lived, as Dragic played 11
minutes in the first half Friday.

"I didn't find the rhythm, didn't lead the team, and I was on the bench,"
Dragic said of Wednesday's game. "That was a coaching decision. It was the
right decision, because I didn't lead the team. I just to have to focus on my
game and try to do my stuff.

"It was difficult. But this is not a question, because when the season
started, I had the same 10-15 minutes a game and I did my stuff. It's not a
problem about the time. It's just in my head right now. I just have to get
clear everything and try to play."

Dragic's struggles were emblematic of the bench's slip, other than Hakim
Warrick's 19-point second quarter against Chicago. It would help if fellow
reserves did more of what they did Friday, defending to set up Dragic's
strength in a transition game and making more shots. Dragic had a
seven-point, three-assist first half Friday, even with Warrick missing an
alley-oop.

Part of Gentry's problem with Dragic has been his inability to get his
teammates into the right place at times. Dragic said three teammates were in
the wrong place on a set Wednesday. He has come a long way but still must
take charge.

對芝加哥時出了差錯，直接導致他弄了很久還是得自己來


"I'd like for him to be a better leader," Gentry said. "I don't like it when
he says, 'They weren't in the right spots.' That's a little tough for him to
do right now, but I think eventually he'll get to the point where he'll put
guys where they're supposed to be."

「我希望他能成為一個更好的領導者。我不喜歡聽到他說『他們跑錯了啦』

Gentry said he will start leaving Dragic in through the struggles and
substitute for other reserves with starters.

"I know I can do it, because I demonstrated that in the past," Dragic said.

out in 10 minutes Friday night.

- Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro, on the departures of his former fellow Suns
executives Steve Kerr and David Griffin: "It's part of the business. It's
unfortunate. Those guys worked so hard putting the team together that went to
the Western Conference finals. They both landed on their feet well because
they're quality people and smart workers."
