[外電] Hill談談gay

Ever since Phoenix Suns president and CEO Rick Welts announced he was gay
last weekend, the team has been at the forefront of the issue. Furthering
that idea was a PSA released the same day, featuring both Jared Dudley and
Grant Hill.

在太陽的CEO宣佈出櫃之後 ,太陽馬上站到這個話題的最前線
Speaking on the issue, Hill told NPR that while he does not necessarily see
this as a "tipping point," this is not a bad thing.

Hill說不必把這件事看得像一個「引爆點」 ,這不是什麼壞事
"I certainly think there's more discussion, there's more conversation about
this subject matter than at any other time and I think more and more people
are comfortable with coming out and expressing themselves," he said. "Do I
anticipate athletes coming out of the closet now, left and right, I don't
know.

「這件事確實引發了許多討論 ,很多人認為這次的時機比以前重要多了 ,但我想更好的是
越來越多人知道如何表達自己 ,不過要我預測運動員會不會開始宣布出櫃? ,我不知道
"But I think, certainly, it's just a good start to be able to talk about it
and have these discussions."

不過我想這是一個好的開始
No matter your feelings on the issue itself, seeing professional athletes
tackle the issue head on is a step many would not have predicted, and if the
NBA wants to help with social change this is a good start.

不管你怎麼想 ,看職業球員談論這個事情可能是對改變社會觀感的一個好的開始
Granted, fans may want to see the Suns worry about winning games before
changing the way people think, but their season is over so that's not an
option. And with a lockout looming, on-the-court progress is really not an
option at this point anyway.

雖然比起這件事球迷比較關心的是贏球 ,但球季已經結束 ,而且封館的陰影籠罩 ,
場上的事情還是再說吧
