PHOENIX -- Shortstop Khalil Greene is eligible to come off the disabled list
on Sept. 3, but with the sprained ligament in his left middle finger not
responding as favorably as hoped, he is scheduled to visit Dr. Don Sheridan
on Tuesday for another examination.
"He's made some progress," Padres head athletic trainer Todd Hutcheson said,
"but obviously he's not ready to play. The ligament's going to take six to
eight weeks to heal before he's going to feel good, but that doesn't mean he
can't play before then.
