推 eddietu:20000 papers??!! 難怪有人會緊張.. 03/17 11:05
小弟前2天在查詢ISI資料庫時,發現在SCI-expanded裡面找不到
LNCS(Lecture Notes in Computer Science),
LNAI(Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence )

Dear x,
The answer is no. Up until 2007, LNCS was cited. However, ISI have decided to
take LNCS out of the Journals Citation Index. There is another listing for
proceedings. They feel that this is more appropriate for LNCS.

Dear Anna Kramer,
Maybe I misled you in the former letter. I would like to inquire if the LNCS
series is indexed in the SCIENCE CITATION INDEX EXPANDED (SCIE) for 2007?
Thanks for your attention!
Yours,
x

==================================================
Dear XXXX,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding ISI's SCI coverage of LNCS.
Indeed, unfortunately, ISI decided not to cover LNCS and ist subseries any
longer for evaluation and listing in SCI. They gave some strange reasons
(like a high selfcitation ratio). Overall, the huge publication out put of
LNCS with approximately 20,000 papers annually seems to cause an unbalanced
situation for them (since approximately the 425 (other) journal titles
evaluated for computer science by ISI and listed in SCI account all together
only for a total of some 26,000 papers).
So, I very much regret to have to confirm that ISI drops LNCS )and LNAI)
from SCI. Various researchers have discussed this issue with us as well;
some of them will write to ISI and point out that it makes no sense to omit
exclude LNCS from SCI since thus the research literature in computer science
is not evaluated in a representative way.
Thanks for your interest in LNCS; we hope that you will continue publishing
with Springer/LNCS.
Best regards,
Alfred
