The department Information and Computing Sciences of Utrecht University is
looking for an
Assistant Professor in Game and Media Technology
We search for candidates that have a strong scientific interest in one or
more of the following computer science areas: geometric modeling and
reconstructions, computer graphics, applied computational geometry,
geometric pattern recognition and 3D biometrics.
The position consists of 50% research and 50% teaching. You are expected
to perform independent, original research at an internationally recognized
level. You will teach courses in the master program Game and Media
Technology,
and in the bachelor program Computer Science offered by the department. You
are expected to supervise master students and PhD students.
The position is related to the education and research of the groups
Multimedia & Geometry, and Games & Virtual Worlds, which carry out the
master program Game & Media Technology, see http://www.cs.uu.nl/research/
and http://www.cs.uu.nl/info/studie/master/ . We perform fundamental and
application oriented research, with an emphasis on the algorithmic aspects.
The large number of students, and high student appreciation scores make the
Master program Game & Media Technology very successful. The department
participates in the Center for Advanced Gaming and Simulation,

We ask
Candidates should have a PhD in computer science or related discipline.
Scientific creativity and productivity must be shown by publications in
international journals and conferences within the indicated areas.
Candidates preferably have teaching experience.
We offer
The position is for a period of five years. The salary will be min. €
2,279.-
and max. € 4,190.- gross per month (scale 10/11) depending on
qualifications
and experience. The salary is supplemented with a holiday allowance of 8%,
and an end-of year bonus of 3% gross per year. In addition we offer
partially paid parental leave, subsidy for child care, flexible employment
conditions in which you may trade salary for vacation days or vice versa.
The employment conditions are based on the Collective Employment Agreement
of the Dutch Universities.
