Openings of Post-doctoral and long term Interns in IBM Exploratory Computer Vision group. About the IBM ECV Group The ECV group at IBM conducts research in a wide variety of areas of relevance to computer vision and biometrics. The research includes object recognition, usability improvement, human identification by their physical characteristics, video analysis, face detection and recognition, etc. The computer vision group has 9 full-time researchers and is located at the T.J. Job Descriptions Post-Doctoral: The Exploratory Computer Vision Group at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center has two opening for a post-doctoral research fellow in video analytics, object/event recognition and learning. The position entails cutting edge research and development in real time video systems. The fellow will work as part of a large team and work with experienced mentors on real customer problems involving learning, object detection, tracking, classification, meta-data extraction, indexing, and search. The position is a 1 year temporary position beginning immediately. Requirements: Candidates must have completed their PhD from a tier one university in computer vision, with specialization in video analysis and learning for a real world application. Candidates with PhD's in other areas of computer vision, but significant experience in video analysis and or learning will also be considered. Candidates must have done research and have publications in the areas of video processing, learning, video tracking algorithms, object classification, and pattern recognition. Candidates must have 3+ years programming experience in C++ under Windows and/or Linux development environment. Self motivated and good team player Experience in real system development is a big plus. Long term interns: The Exploratory Computer Vision Group at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center has multiple openings for long term internship positions. The positions entail cutting edge research and development in advanced video and image processing systems. Interns will work as part of a large team and work with experienced mentors on problems involving object/event detection, recognition, learning, tracking, classification, meta-data extraction, indexing, and search. Requirements: Candidates must be preferably advanced PhD students, but bright junior PhD's and senior undergraduate student will also be considered Candidates must have done system design experience and preferably have publications and/or experience in the areas of computer vision, video processing, video tracking algorithms, object classification, and pattern recognition. Candidates must have 3+ years programming experience in C++ under Windows and/or Linux development environment. US work authorization is required. Self motivated and good team player. Experience in Video Processing system development is a big plus.
