Nate the Great is Gone

We got Charlie Morton, Gorkys Hernandez, and Jeff Locke in return from the

Braves for Nate Mclouth.

BTW, Andrew McCutchen is on the way to Pittsburgh. He'll be our starting CF.




Quick thoughts:

Looking at the scouting reports and stats of the three prospects, I think

Neal Hunttington is keeping his words on building a strong organization.

It's certainly not any sort of salary dump. Only an organization with

good farm system can succeed, and we are really on the way to achieving it.



Based on the info reported or rumored, Morton could be in the rotation mix

soon, or at least he is considered as immediate help to big league team.

His number last year with the Braves was not good, but he was good in AAA.


Locke is the key of the trade, he is a hightly regarded southpaw. John Sickel

grades him as a B- prosptect and most of the scouting analysis put him in

top 10 Braves prospect. He got good commend and fast ball, with good frame

to develop. He's only 21.



Hernandez has great defensive game. His bat is good, but the power has just not

shown, and we can only cross our fingers on his power. He is 21 years old.

Sickels also graded him as a B- prospect.






Andrew McCutchen era is finally here. He might still need a little bit of time

adjusting the show, but we should be able to count on him to be an above

average CF with solid bats.



Farewell Nate the great Mclouth. We'll certainly miss you.

prospects is like getting angry at doctors for giving you shots because every

不過現在海盜的系統終於開始像樣,

我們現在有McCutchen本來就是等著要上來接CF,

Minor有 Gorky Hernandez for CF or LF (海盜隊需要速度快範圍大的LF)
        Tataba

這是許久沒有見到的 position depth.


還記得Hunttington 接海盜隊時,我們的農場長怎樣嗎?

McCutchen 是 No. 1

Neil Walker 是我們農場的 No.2

然後....就沒有了


但是在那之前我們就沒有用明星選手去換人嗎?

就光是這幾年

有的, Brian Giles, (Jason Bay 也是這樣得到的, 還有Oliver Perez)

還有 Aramis Ramiraz... 換到....Bobby Hill...


最帥氣的是還會去做Matt Morris這種交易

然後我們還會去簽 Joe Randa, Randal Simon, Burnitz...這些選手.


現在的management, 花不到兩年的時間,重整了農場系統, 也還讓整支球隊年輕化

看看我們現在的depth chart和兩年前就知道了

他們現在面對的指責事實上是之前幾任GM不斷錯誤的方向留給他們的問題

如果你把Bucs當成一支剛要重建的球隊,那他這樣的做法目前看起來成果是很不錯的.



當然,我同意您說的,失去明星球員對球隊有個種面向的傷害

不過,這支球隊現在面臨的問題,是什麼時候開始要贏,

而不是每年要靠selection出一個 all star

如果現在的management 繼續他們現在在做的

加強農場, 強化球探部門,

我認為球隊就有希望.

再一次, 我認為他們被批評 go cheap是因為前人的錯誤,

但是他們現在願意在選秀花錢 (看看去年整個選秀簽約的情況和這些選手現在的評價),

在international player 花錢

在多明尼加設立training facility

一再而再的都在 building the future, not buy to sell.



最後, we certainly will miss McLouth, but we should also be excited to see

      Andrew McCutchen.
