AUBURN HILLS -- Veteran referee Joey Crawford hadn't worked a Pistons game all
season until Sunday, but he clearly has watched a lot of film. No doubt he has
heard Bulls coach Scott Skiles and others whine about the Pistons' nonstop
chatter with the referees.

Crawford made it clear early that he wasn't going to listen to any chatter. He
slapped Tayshaun Prince with a technical foul when Prince was having a rather
calm conversation with him. Crawford later turned to coach Flip Saunders and
said: "If you think I am going to sit here and talk to you all game, forget it.
I will throw you out."

game," Saunders said.

Once that was established, things settled down quickly. Still, the Cavaliers
believed the Pistons got a break early in the game when Rasheed Wallace whacked
Zydrunas Ilgauskas in the head with an elbow, opening a gash that required five
stitches..

Wallace, by the way, got some good news earlier in the day. One of his
technical fouls has been rescinded.

when referee Bennett Salvatore ruled he "intended" to throw an elbow.

Wallace has 13 technical fouls, only 12 of which count toward the 16 needed to

It takes a lot to get Antonio McDyess to lose his temper. But McDyess said
before the game Sunday that he might be done playing "McNyess."

Apparently, being a nice guy isn't getting him any favors with the officials.

Before Sunday, McDyess had been called for 146 fouls in 1,071 minutes, which
