DENVER -- When the Atlanta Hawks waived guard Tony Delk last week, a number of
teams called, wanting him to bring his veteran experience, shooting tough and
rugged defense their way.

Atlanta.

expected Delk to be more than just an insurance policy in the backcourt backing

As the season winds down in the next six weeks, Saunders said he wants to keep
the rotation extended, meaning Delk could wind up a regular bench contributor.

shoot from long range, and defend both shooting and point guards.

GOTTA TALK: The league might have rescinded Rasheed Wallace's latest technical
foul -- the one that came on Monday for laughing -- but Wallace said Wednesday
he still doesn't understand the way officials treat his team. He doesn't get
why technical fouls are handed out so quickly or why there is, in his opinion,
a difference in the way games are called for the Pistons and their opponents.

in moments when he was trying to protect them. "I'm trying to keep Dice from
getting thrown out of the game after he got his tech and that crazy delay of
game," Wallace said. "I'm trying to keep him from getting thrown out and Jack
Nies is yelling at me, 'Get away from him!' I'm like, 'Dog, I'm trying to keep
him away from you!'

GOOD WORKS: Billups announced Wednesday that he has donated $100,000, his
involvement and his name to the Porter/Billups Leadership Academy at Regis
University, joining Regis basketball coach Lonnie Porter, a longtime family
friend, as a sponsor.
