AUBURN HILLS -- The Detroit Pistons' remaining three regular-season games are
against teams with losing records. Considering the Pistons have already
clinched home-court advantage throughout the NBA playoffs, these games don't
really mean a lot.
奧本山訊 -- 活塞剩下三場例行賽事都將面對本季勝少敗多的次級球隊，慮及活塞已
經確定獲得整個季後賽期間的主場優勢，這幾場比賽其實意義不大。
But don't tell that to guard Alex Acker, one of several Pistons rookies who
should get quality playing time this week.
不過別向本週應該會獲得不少上場時間的菜鳥後衛A.Acker這麼說。
"I'm approaching this like it's my (NBA) Finals," said Acker, who has appeared
in just three games this season. "If he (Pistons coach Flip Saunders) puts me
out there, I'll be ready. I'm looking forward to these games."
本季僅於三場球賽中亮過相的Acker說"我把會他當作我最後的機會來看待，如果老桑
給我上場的機會，我會隨時準備好接受挑戰，我真的很期待接下來這幾場比賽。"
So are Detroit's veterans, who expect to spend more time cheering than being
cheered on in the remaining games.

"Oh, definitely, it'd be nice to see the young bucks do their thing," said
forward Rasheed Wallace.

Especially Acker, who is the only player on the roster now who came to training
camp without a guaranteed contract.

He has approached practice, as well as his stint with Detroit's Developmental
League affiliate, the Fayetteville (N.C.) Patriots, with the mindset that he
had to prove something.

The Pistons' other rookie, Jason Maxiell, has been with the team all season,
appearing in 23 games.

Since Acker and Johnson have rejoined the Pistons, Pistons coach Flip Saunders
has seen a difference in their confidence level.

"What we'd like to see, is to see how they carry through in a pressure
situation playing in front of 22,000 people instead of 220," Saunders said.

Acker, who will be a free agent this summer, has the most to gain by playing
well in the next few games. While the Pistons are expected to re-sign him to a
two-year contract, Acker knows a strong showing this week will help in that

The players embrace the idea of playing defense the length of the floor.

After a few trips up and down the floor in Friday's loss at Toronto, Maxiell
looked a bit winded. He wasn't tired, just overly excited about getting a
chance to play so much -- he was in the game for a career-high 16 minutes.

Pistons veteran Lindsey Hunter remembered how he was the same way earlier in
his career.

Ex-Pistons coach and current New York Knicks head coach Larry Brown, who was
hospitalized briefly in Cleveland due to a stomach ailment, did not travel with
the team for tonight's game against the Pistons at The Palace. Brown is being
listed as day-to-day.
去年於活塞執教的現任尼克教練布朗，他因為胃病而於克里夫蘭短暫住院治療，所以
今晚未隨隊造訪活塞的宮殿球場。布朗教練目前被放在每日觀察名單當中。
