‧ As for the rotation, there are only a few players who need a stellar October
and beginning of the season to earn some trust and make the regular rotation.
One is Maxiell. The Pistons are more likely to use a four-man post rotation
with Wallace and his never-want-to-sit-attitude gone. Nazr Mohammed, Antonio
McDyess and Rasheed Wallace will claim the bulk of those minutes. The Pistons
hope Maxiell snatches the rest, mainly because he would represent the youth
movement in an otherwise veteran-laden big man lineup. If he shows he's not
ready, veteran Dale Davis can fill in.
‧就球員輪替陣容而言，只有少數幾位球員需要在十月訓練營期間及季初有亮麗的表
現以爭取教練團的信任並打入基本輪替陣容之內。其中一位是Maxiell，活塞大部分採用四

‧ The other backup spots are penciled in. Free-agent pickup Flip Murray will
back up Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton at point guard and shooting guard
. Carlos Delfino will primarily back up Tayshaun Prince at small forward but
will also spend time spelling Hamilton. Lindsey Hunter will be used strictly as
a change-of-pace guard who can rattle individuals with his defense. His role
will likely grow more important as the season moves on.
‧其他替補球員的空缺都已經補滿了。從自由球員市場撿回來的F.Murray將同時擔任
控衛槍蜥及得分後衛RIP的替補，C.Delfino主要將擔任小前鋒小王子的替補，但也將用去
一些時間替補RIP，如果想換個口味，獵人也可以用他的防守讓對手產生困擾，而且他的腳
色也將隨著球季進行而越形重要。
‧ In the leadership department, don't fret too much about Ben Wallace's
departure. For one thing, Billups was as big an on-the-court leader as Wallace
and also serves as team spokesman off the court. And while the guys will
certainly miss Ben Wallace, they have another Wallace who provides an often
overlooked chunk of the team's leadership. This year, it might be truer than
ever -- as Rasheed Wallace goes, so go the Pistons. If he plays up to his
abilities on a consistent basis, there's little reason this team can't return
to the Finals. But Wallace needs to lay off the three-pointer a little if
that's going to happen. He attempted 198 more three-pointers last season than
the year before. As a result, the Pistons lived and died by outside shooting,
and that meant live early and die late. That needs to change.
‧在精神領袖班蛙出走這部分，其實不必太過擔心。舉個例子來說，槍蜥在場上的領
袖氣息其實和班蛙相比有過之而無不及，而且在場外也時常擔任球隊的發言人。另外儘管
球員們一定會想念班蛙，他們仍擁有時常被遺忘了的球隊領袖溪蛙。今年，或許這樣的情
形會有所改變 -- 一旦溪蛙發飆，那活塞也將勢不可擋，如果他能拿出全部的實力並且堅
持到底，那球隊幾乎沒有理由說無法重返總冠軍賽，但前提是他必須少投一點三分外線，
因為上個球季他三分球出手次數比前年還多了198次。其結果是活塞變成看天吃飯的外線投
射大隊，而他們先在例行賽寫下聯盟最佳戰績，但最後卻無法闖進總冠軍賽，所以他們外
線、內線的出手比例還需要做一些調整。
