AUBURN HILLS -- Assessing the Pistons before Game 1, former Pistons coach and
current TNT analyst Doug Collins said, "Do you know why they are so locked in
and so focused? Because they know the Bulls can beat them."

The Pistons do have a healthy apprehensiveness about the Bulls. It's the reason
they had probably the most productive week of practice leading up to the series
. It's the reason they were so locked in and ready for Game 1, and it's the
reason it is highly unlikely they will let up for Game 2.

like that. That team is too good. It's going to be a tough, long series."

The Pistons know they let up in a similar situation against the Cleveland
Cavaliers last season, and it cost them dearly. But the difference is, the
Pistons never truly believed the Cavaliers could beat them last year until it
almost was too late. They didn't have the same respect they have for the Bulls.

The Pistons discombobulated the Bulls with an aggressive and varied defense.
They kept them off-balance by changing between man-to-man and zone, and by
springing hard traps both on the perimeter and in the post.

to be against us. I just think we didn't come out and execute like we're
capable of executing. If we don't do that, they're going to dominate us every

. They especially disarmed their draw-and-dish plays and limited dribble
penetration.

turned the ball over 16 times and only scored 22 points in the lane.

," Saunders said. "Even though we won by 20-plus points, it could have been a
