One Detroit Piston comes back, another one goes down.
一個活塞球員回來了，另一個卻受傷了。

On the night that Amir Johnson saw action in his first preseason game (he was
out with a left ankle sprain), another one of Detroit's youngsters - Rodney
Stuckey - suffered an injury that will probably keep him out for at least a
month.

Not surprisingly, the Pistons found little joy at the end of their 104-85
preseason win over the Washington Wizards.

All the focus after the game was on Stuckey, who suffered a broken left hand
injury late in the third quarter.

It is unclear exactly how the injury happened. Stuckey was fighting through a
screen set by Andray Blatche, and somehow got his hand caught in his jersey.
It didn’t look serious in replays.
怎麼受傷的並不是很清楚，當時Stuckey奮力掙脫Andray Blatche的掩護，然後他的手
就和Blatche的球衣糾纏在一起了。

"Those freakish accidents are usually the worst,” Saunders said.

He came wincing off the floor, holding the hand and doubled-over in pain as
strength and conditioning coach Arnie Kander checked him out. The first
report was that he only was smacked on the hand and that he’d be OK.
剛開始Arnie以為沒大礙。

Then, with his hand bandaged up, he walked off to the locker room for X-Rays.
Even Stuckey’s not quite sure how the break — his first — happened.

“Don’t know,” Stuckey said. “I don’t know. I hit someone and my fingers
just went the wrong way. Here it is. It was in so much pain, so I kind of
knew.”

The course of treatment and recovery time is unknown. He will be reevaluated
today.

The break appears to have occurred in three different places in the hand, which
would require more than a month to completely heal.

"It's always disappointing when you break something and have to sit out,"
said Stuckey, who added that this is his first broken bone injury.
But I'll bounce back, it's not going to be that long. It's only going to make
me better."

Pistons coach Flip Saunders was understandably somber after the win, knowing
his guard rotation will be altered for the immediate future.

He had told Stuckey, during a timeout before the injury, that he was playing
his best game so far in a Pistons uniform.

"I said to our coaches in one of the time-outs, 'it looks like tonight, he

was his best stint as a point guard in how he played."

Stuckey had 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field, along with four
rebounds and zero turnovers.

"Every game, I get more comfortable," Stuckey said. "Just to go out this way
... it's bad but at the same time, it's just going to make me a better person
in the long run; just come out and be more hungry than I was."

Stuckey is the Pistons’ No. 1 option behind Chauncey Billups. However long
he is out, the team will turn to Ronald (Flip) Murray and perhaps to rookie
Arron Afflalo. Veteran Lindsey Hunter is on the team as a player/coach.

“People have to step up,” Saunders said.

Also in the third quarter, Tayshaun Prince limped to the bench, where
strength and conditioning coach Arnie Kander got to work on what looked like
some sort of ankle injury. But it was nothing more than a stubbed toe.
小王子在第三節一跛一跛的回到板凳引來Arnie的關心。還好只是被踩到腳趾。

Before the injury tainted the night, the game was putting a fine exclamation
point on a mostly cheery preseason. Forward Rasheed Wallace looked focused
and motivated as he scored 17 points. Billups had one of his best games of
the exhibition season, finishing with 12 points and nine assists in 24
minutes.

Backup small forward Jarvis Hayes, facing his former team, scored 21 points.
Hayes對上老東家還拿下21分。

The Pistons played again without Richard Hamilton, who is still out with a
sprained left ankle. He could return to practice Friday.

Johnson made all three of his baskets to finish with six points in his
preseason debut. ... Jarvis Hayes capped off an impressive preseason with a
21-point performance against his former team. "I'm not surprised at all that
I'm playing well," Hayes said. "But I can always be better. I mean, I missed
five shots." ... 73 percent of those General Managers surveyed by NBA.com
voted Rip Hamilton as the league's best in moving without the ball.
Hayes說他還可以表現得更好。他有五球沒進呢。
NBA GM的投票中，在聯盟最佳的空手跑位球員這個選項中Rip得到了73%的選票。
