Mejia was drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the 57th overall pick, but was
unable to make the big club due to their overwhelming depth at the point
forward position. Sammy has been one of the top two-way players in the D-League
this season, and is currently 13th in the league in scoring (19.6 points) and
7th in the league in rebounding (8.0 rebounds) per game.
