   When asked if the Celtics winning two of the three games put
   a dent in the Pistons' confidence, should the two teams meet
   in the playoffs, Billups said, "No way." 


  "You don't want to take anything away from the Pistons," Celtics
   forward Paul Pierce said. "You don't want to get too overconfident
   against them. It's great to beat them in the regular-season
   matchup and win the series, but this is a team we will probably
   see in the playoffs and they will be a better team by then." 


   On top of that, because of the snowstorm Tuesday night, the
   Pistons had to change airports (from Pontiac-Oakland to Detroit Metro)
   and didn't get to their hotel in Boston until after 3 a.m. Wednesday.


  "They took it to us," Pistons coach Flip Saunders said.
  "You can't use that as an excuse." 


   Garnett, who scored 12 straight points on Johnson in the second
   quarter, scored five straight on him in the fourth, and the Celtics
   regained control. It was a welcome-to-the-NBA moment for Johnson.


  "We said this was going to be a learning experience for some of
   these guys," Saunders said. "We have to find out what these guys
   can do in this type of situation. They did OK. It was a three-point
   game when (the starters) came back in."


  "We didn't run out of steam," Wallace said. "We just missed shots
   in that fourth quarter and all they were doing was going to the
   (free throw) line. Anytime they don't pick up their first foul
   (in the fourth) until 1:15 left in the game, that's ludicrous to me."


   Allen picked up a technical foul in the first quarter when he
   elbowed Hamilton in the face. Hamilton got Allen back later when
   he caught him in the groin area with a flailing elbow. Just two
   former Connecticut Huskies having fun. 


   Billups picked up a technical foul in the fourth, disputing a
   offensive foul called on him by referee Steve Javie.

  "Part of the problem is when things start going south, our guys think they
   can do it by themselves," Saunders said. "We don't have those type of
   players. Our players are geared towards somebody else making a play for
   somebody. That's how this team is built."
