AUBURN HILLS -- Should Antonio McDyess be starting for the Pistons?

The question came up after practice Thursday and coach Michael Curry admitted
it was something he and his staff were contemplating.

"Over our last 20 games and into the playoffs, I am not sure, but we may look
at that," Curry said. "But going through this stretch, we want to see (how
the current starting five works)."

McDyess has essentially been playing a starter's role, even though he comes
off the bench. In the last five games, he's averaged 31 minutes, he's on the
court at the end of games and he's produced 7.8 points and 10.6 rebounds. He
had 17 rebounds in the win against Miami on Wednesday.

Amir Johnson, who starts at the power forward position, has averaged just
12.6 minutes over the last five games, so it doesn't seem like it would be
that much of a change to swap roles. But Curry has legitimate reasons for
keeping the rotation as it is.

"We know how valuable 'Dyess is and we want him (healthy and fresh) down the
stretch," Curry said.
