In my point of view, such a high bound could only be happened
on astroturf, which make sense players (hitter and defensers)
can run faster than on grass.
BTW, Maybe that's the reason they won't play a 9 innings game
with 5 hours. XD
I don't think he really need quick legs in the 2nd & 3rd cases,
because infielders always stand much backward in that kind of stadium.
