PULP LAUNCH '...LIFE' IN STYLE! PULP launched their new album 'WE LOVE LIFE' with a lavish party at the LONDON GREENWICH OBSERVATORY last night (September 28). The band joined about 200 journalists, media and music industry types on a boat trip down the Thames to Greenwich Observatory, where the album was then played back in the pitch dark of the planetarium, as a simulation of the universe spun over the guests' heads. The album is released on October 22 through Island, preceded by a double A-side single 'The Trees/Sunrise' on October 8. All the band were there to mingle with party guests, who quaffed cocktails and canapes, with Jarvis Cocker and Steve Mackey DJing in a marquee on the observatory lawn as part of their Desperate Sound System. Hear'say's Suzanne Shaw was also at the party, probably because Hear'say are signed to Universal, parent company of Island, Pulp's label, rather than due to an undying devotion to the Sheffield band. Pulp are also touring the UK next month to support their new releases.
