不是應該是
「我說；“現在假裝你是沒有錢的人，”」

嗯這邊我和你的詮釋不太一樣
我覺得這一大段都是普通人男主角的肺腑教訓經驗之談
(也就是他一點一滴告訴女主角(以及我們)什麼叫做成為 Common People)
倒不是實際發生在富家女主角本身的遭遇
整個語氣有點像是
「你知道什麼叫做真正的“普通人嗎”？
普通人就是在店舖上租個公寓，理好頭髮，找份工作
抽些菸草，玩些撞球
假裝你從沒上學過
但你還是沒辦法說服自己一切很好
因為當入夜你躺在床上，你會看著爬在牆上的蟑螂
如果你受不了向你爹求救，他可以阻止這一切吧...」
: 如果打通電話給你的爸爸
: 你就能逃離這一切啊

: you'll never fail like common people,

這句我會翻成

這是我很喜歡的一句心聲和控訴
fail like common people...很殘忍卻也很真實

: 因為他們除此無事可做啊

ㄟ這邊 “tear”應該是動詞“撕裂”而非名詞“眼淚”吧？
所以是否應該翻成

直搗核心又不失原意
那種平時不參與
一時興起好奇才來關心攪局的人
是滿令人受不了的

嗯其實在看了從英國買回來的英國八零年代 cult classics 的三部曲之後
"Made in Britain"
"Meantime"
"Prick Up Your Ears" (中文好像翻作《豎起你的耳朵》)
會對 Common Poeple 裡頭描繪的普通人尤其是年輕人圖像有更具體的感觸
那種漫無目的惶惶度日浪費生命
想有意義想找目標想找發洩卻發現遍尋不著騙不了自己
被庸碌消極的家庭，冷漠制式的社會包圍困住
生命只剩下吃喝拉撒，找工作，沒工作，不想工作
還有一群打屁哈草玩撞球的狐群狗黨...
可當我看到 Made In Britain 那個目空一切前途無亮的聰慧納粹 skinhead 青年
用暴力來宣洩，對著社工控訴他不想玩社會訂好的那一套的時候
當 Meantime 裡那對沒出息敵對的兄弟最後互相了解關懷彼此的困境，
頭腦遲鈍弟弟剃光頭來抗議輕視他的世界的時候
還有當 Prick Up Your Ears 裡同性戀人遊戲人間，用死亡來奢望保存愛情的時候
我又不得不他媽的為這些再真實再普通不過的人鼓掌感動
而這又讓我想起楚浮的《四百擊》
那種存在於年輕血液裡同樣的絕對叛逆孤獨，想自由的渴望，對未來的渺茫...
突然覺得我們有 Sex Pistol 真好
有這些電影真好
可以不時刺一下提醒我們這些安逸的人類
血液裡到底還剩下些什麼
還想吶喊些什麼...
