嗯 Jarvis 用 "react" to the sunrise in a better way 這個字而非 "resist"
所以我可能不會翻成「反抗」
應該比較接近「試著以比較好的方式對日出這樣的現象作出的反應」
「並且不要讓自己搞砸了一切」
所以在歌詞裡我們才會看到
I used to hate the sun 我曾經憎恨太陽
'casue it shone on everything I've done 因為它照耀在我所做過的一切之上
Made me feel that all that I had done 讓我覺得
Was overfill the ashtray of my life 我所做的一切都超載著生命的灰燼
但是現在，Jarvis 似乎學會了不去迴避陽光
而是去面對其實並不會崩潰並沒有那麼糟的早晨
But here comes sunrise. Yeah, here's your sunrise
When you've been awake all night long & you feel like crashing out at dawn.
But you've been awake all night, so why should you crash out at dawn?
儘管陽光無情照耀或許活在地底下的你我
我們畢竟都還是人類/肉身而非吸血鬼/灰燼
買的那本 Q 上面 PULP 的專訪
Jarvis 說他愛自然，被自然吸引是因為 nature is dangerous...
他真是他媽的說得好
在 Dalby Forest 演唱會之後我們的遭遇
深深體會除了謐靜美好清新的一面
大自然的未知、黑暗以及不友善...
呵 Jarvis 還說其實 Sunrise 是他們做過最混亂最 disturbing 擾人的一首歌
後面潛伏的近乎火山爆發 overwhelming 的節奏和音樂
是對前面了悟般的自省詞曲所做的經歷解說
要達到前面「擁抱陽光」看似有點過於白濫正面的結論
不可能是容易的輕鬆的沒有掙扎矛盾或毀滅的
而即使陽光不再讓 Jarvis 的生命灰燼滿天飛舞
也不代表不再有灰燼或是沒有可能再崩潰
如果要用電影來比喻的話
我覺得 Sunrise 不僅是 open ending
還是會小小顛覆前面的劇情，擾動觀眾先前結論的複雜心理劇
說不定 We Love Life 整張專輯都浮在弔詭的灰色地帶;)
