Manager Buck Showalter strained a calf muscle May 22 against the Devil Rays
when he slipped on the dugout steps just before a trip to the mound to take
out RHP Colby Lewis in the fifth inning. Showalter limped back to the dugout
and remained on the bench for the remainder of the game.
