ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)—Free agent catcher Toby Hall has agreed to a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers that includes an invitation to major league spring training. The Rangers are looking for veteran depth behind the plate. The 34-year-old Hall has played 673 games at catcher over nine major league seasons, but missed all of last year after surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right (throwing) shoulder. He had been a non-roster invitee in spring training with Houston when he got hurt, and the Astros voided his contract. Hall has a career .262 average with 46 home runs and 269 RBIs with Tampa Bay (2000-06), the Los Angeles Dodgers (2006) and Chicago White Sox (2007-08). He was in the Rays’ opening-day lineup five times, and averaged 121 starts per season in 2003-05. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.171.137.211
