Rangers put Gentry on DL
The Texas Rangers put outfielder Craig Gentry on the seven-day disabled list
before tonight's game against Minnesota. Catcher Taylor Teagarden was
recalled from Triple-A Round Rock to replace Gentry on the roster.
Gentry has shown concussion symptoms since colliding with Toronto's Aaron
Hill while sliding into second base during Sunday's game. it is Gentry's
fifth concussion dating back to his childhood.
The seven-day disabled list, in its first year, is reserved for players with
head injuries. Because the move cannot be backdated, Gentry will be out until
at least Thursday.
