The Toronto Raptors will waive former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett on Mo
nday and sign veteran forward Jason Thompson for the remainder of the season,
league sources told The Vertical.
Bennett, 22, played 19 games for the Raptors this season after returning to hi
s hometown franchise as a free agent in September. In releasing Bennett and si
gning Thompson, Toronto will fortify its frontcourt depth and give Bennett an
opportunity to seek an increased role elsewhere.
暴龍將裁掉曾是選秀狀元的Anthony Bennett，並簽下老將Jason Thompson。
AB現年22歲，本季回歸家鄉球隊後為暴龍出賽19場。裁掉AB並簽下JT，暴龍可以補足他們
的前場戰力，並讓AB尋求更好的機會。

The Phoenix Suns may look into Bennett once he clears waivers, sources said.
消息指出，太陽應該會開始關注他。

Bennett, the first pick by Cleveland in 2013, has averaged 4.2 points and 3.1
rebounds in 128 career games for the Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Rap
tors. During his stints with Cleveland and Minnesota, Bennett – a former stan
dout at UNLV – had injury setbacks.
身為2013年騎士隊選秀狀元的AB，在生涯128場比賽中場均4.2分3.1籃板，待過騎士、灰
狼，暴龍。在騎士和灰狼期間他曾有過傷病。

He averaged 1.5 points and 1.2 rebounds this season, remaining professional in
 limited minutes and developing on a veteran-laden team.
本季他場均1.5分，1.2籃板，在有限的上場時間內努力維持身手。

Bennett had a strong summer for the Canadian national team before returning to
 the U.S. and completing a buyout with Minnesota.

Thompson was waived by the Golden State Warriors last week to create roster sp
ace for the signing of Anderson Varejao. The 6-foot-11 Thompson has averaged n
ine points and 6.7 rebounds in eight NBA seasons with Sacramento and Golden St
ate.
